Peoria Unified begins the process of terminating teacher for ‘grooming’ student

Haley Beck is accused of grooming a student and engaging in a sexual relationship with him, according to Peoria Unified School District officials.

PEORIA, Ariz. — A teacher at Peoria Unified School District is facing potential termination following an investigation into her behavior by the district and Peoria police.

Haley Beck, a teacher at Centennial High School, was investigated under Title IX provisions and was found to have groomed a student and engaged in a sexual relationship with him, according to district officials.

The statement of charges states that the student was 18 when the sexual relationship began, but inappropriate behavior at school and outside of school took place before that time.

According to a Statement of Charges provided by the district, Beck provided the student with food and special treatment in the spring semester of 2025.

The student was a junior in 2025.

Beck allegedly added the student to her Snapchat account under the name “sneaky link.”

The investigation found that Beck repeatedly discussed oral sex with the student.

The investigation found that Beck had done the student’s homework, provided him with grades he didn’t earn and at one point fed him jelly beans from her hand in class.

In messages between Beck and the student, she referred to herself as a “sugar mama” and him as a “sugar baby.”

Beck sent the student money via Apple Pay, including one payment that had the comment “this money exchange just felt like straight up prostitution.”

At a governing board meeting on March 26, the board adopted a statement of charges to terminate Beck.

The allegations against Beck were reported to the Arizona Department of Education on August 3, 2025, and the matter is currently pending.

Beck can request a hearing with the District.  If she fails to do so, then 10 days after the adoption of the Statement, Beck will be terminated.

Beck has not been criminally charged. Peoria police submitted their report to the county attorney’s office and the county attorney sent it back for further investigation.
