PHOENIX — One person is dead and a teenager has been arrested after a shooting in west Phoenix early Sunday morning.

Phoenix police say they were called to the area near 91st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 2:45 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced at the scene.

Police originally identified the victim as a juvenile, but he has since been identified as 22-year-old Luis Angel Carranza.

Officials say that a birthday party was being held at the home when Carranza was involved in a fight with a teenager. The teenager, only identified by police as a 16-year-old boy, allegedly shot Carranza.
