Mesa shooting injures one near Rio Salado Parkway

MESA, Ariz. — A person was injured after a shooting in Mesa, the city’s police department said.

According to police, an altercation between two individuals near Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson Road led to a shooting.

One of the people involved sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Police detained one person and are investigating the incident. Authorities said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
