Man traveled from Denmark to Arizona to stalk woman he met on Discord, police say

PHOENIX — A man traveled from Denmark to Yuma, Arizona, several times to stalk a woman he met on Discord, according to officials with the Yuma Police Department. 

Police said the victim and suspect met about six years ago on the online forum. The woman, now 21, said when she ended contact, the man’s behavior became “disturbing” and that he started sending her threatening posts, according to the Yuma Police Department. 

Police started an investigation and learned that the man, identified as 19-year-old Filip Lipinski, had traveled from Denmark, where he lived, to Yuma on three separate occasions and his itinerary aligned with potential sightings of him following the victim, according to police. 

Then, in the fall of 2025, Lipinski moved to Yuma and enrolled in the local high school, police said. 

On Jan. 20, the victim called police and said she believed she saw the man at an event she was attending at the Yuma County Fairgrounds. Officers were not able to locate Lipinski, police said. 

As a result of the investigation, Lipinski was arrested on March 27 with the assistance of the FBI, police said. He faces charges of threats, intimidation and stalking, police said.
