Man killed in south Phoenix shooting

PHOENIX — A man was killed in a shooting in south Phoenix on Saturday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. near Southern Avenue and 24th Street. 

Crews arrived and life-saving measures were attempted, but the man died, police said.

The man was later identified as 46-year-old Douglas Lee.

Police said investigators “contacted” several people in a home near where the shooting happened. They expect to release additional information later on Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case, police said.
