Man found shot to death in home near South Mountain

PHOENIX — A man is dead after a shooting incident in south Phoenix, the city’s police department said.

Officers responded to a scene near the area of Loop 202 and Desert Foothills Parkway on Jan. 17 around 9:30 a.m. to conduct a welfare check.

As they arrived, police said officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound inside a home. He was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Details on what led up to the man’s death and who is involved are unknown at this time.
