The driver also allegedly struck another car and eight motorcycles, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
CAVE CREEK, Ariz. — Two people are hospitalized with serious injuries after a suspected drunk driver crashed into Cave Creek Bike Week last Friday, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

A spokesperson for MCSO said the driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck allegedly drove into the wrong direction of traffic on Cave Creek Road near Harold’s Corral. The driver reportedly struck a stopped GMC pick-up truck, eight parked motorcycles and three pedestrians.
“It was so close, I didn’t even know how to process it when it happened,” Desiree Andersen said. “It was horrific.”
Andersen, a jewelry vendor, told 12News the driver allegedly drove recklessly up and down the road for about an hour leading up to the crash.
“He was going up and down the road, burning out, burning out, burning out, and then he went up the wrong way on the street and went bam right into that truck,” Andersen said. “There was so much debris from all the parts, like there was a lot of parts that came off the bikes, all scattered. There was oil leakage, fluid leakage everywhere.”
One pedestrian declined medical treatment. The other two were taken to the hospital, both with life-threatening head injuries, according to MCSO.
Andersen said her bike is one of the eight damaged.
“The rest of the bikes were totaled. They had to tow them out of here. Mine was able to be ridden out of here,” Andersen said.
MCSO said deputies reportedly observed signs of alcohol impairment in the suspect driver.
Officials have not yet identified the driver or said what charges, if any, they could face.
