Two threatening letters were sent to a home in Gilbert between March 10-18. Police have now charged a Chandler woman with sending them.

GILBERT, Ariz. — A Chandler woman has been arrested and charged with sending threatening letters to a home in Gilbert, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

Gilbert police said that the victims called police on March 10 after receiving a letter at their home “allegedly containing threatening statements with specific details about them.”

The victims reportedly received another threatening letter between March 10 and 18, and the USPI investigators were able to use the second letter to get a lead on who sent them.

On March 21, Gilbert officers arrested a Chandler woman, Shelby Trischler, 34, and charged her with sending the letter. GPD said the victims know Trischler.

Trischler has been charged with five counts of stalking, five counts of threatening or intimidating and five counts of disorderly conduct, according to GPD, and she has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

“The Gilbert Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our community and takes all threats seriously.” GPD said in a press release. “We extend our gratitude to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service for their collaboration and assistance with this investigation.”
