The road rage incident happened on Aug. 7, 2024.

“The victim was driving with his wife and infant daughter near North Higley Road and East McKellips when a GMC driven by Soto pulled up next to their vehicle. Soto began yelling and cursing at the family. When the victim responded by making a hand gesture toward Soto, Soto retrieved a handgun and fired a shot at their vehicle as they drove away,” the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

The incident was captured on video by the victim’s Tesla.

Investigators used the footage to track down and arrest Soto.

“Firing a gun at a family because you are angry is not a mistake – it’s a dangerous, criminal choice,” said Mitchell.
