MACON, Ga. — A shooting at a Log Cabin Drive bar has left three dead and six others hurt Sunday morning, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
It happened at Midtown Daiquiri Bar and Grill at 4376 Log Cabin Drive, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. They say the call came in at around midnight.
Jones says the shooting left nine people shot, and three people died from their injuries. The Bibb County Coroner’s Office pronounced the three victims dead at around 1:10 a.m. Sunday morning.
The victims have been identified as Javonta Faulks, 32, Jedarrius Meadows Jr., 28, and Javarsia Meadows, 24. Next of kin has been notified.
Six others are being treated for their injuries at Atrium Health Navicent, Jones said.
Jones said all three had multiple gunshot wounds, and that there were around 60 shell casings there.
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said that the same location had previously had a shooting a few years ago, and the sheriff’s office was forced to take their liquor license in 2023.
He said the old location closed down, and a set of new owners reopened it under a new name. He added that they plan to determine if they will need to pull their liquor license again.
Davis was unsure if it was a drive-by shooting, as they are still investigating.
“I haven’t had (a shooting) this large in quite a while,” Davis said. “Very troubling, very concerning that people can’t seem to control their anger long enough to settle a dispute without resorting to gunfire.”
Based on previous reporting, Jedarrius Meadows Jr. was charged in a fatal shooting in 2014. He was released in 2018 by the Georgia State Supreme Court. His younger brother, Javarsia Meadows, was a former football player at Howard High School.
Jones said that, as of 3 p.m., two of the people shot are in critical, but stable condition. He added that the other four are all in stable condition.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation. They say that more details will be released as they become available.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Centerville and Perry Police Departments and the Georgia State Patrol are assisting.
There is no word early Sunday morning about any suspects in the case or if anyone is in custody.
Coroner Jones says that this has been the deadliest week of 2025 so far. Macon has had five homicides this week in three separate incidents, Coroner Jones said. Before that, there had been only four fatal shootings in Macon.
If you have any information, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office asks the public to call their office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
