1 in custody, 1 dead after a shooting in Wittmann, MCSO says

WITTMANN, Ariz. — One person is in custody and one person is dead after a shooting on Saturday in Wittmann, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a shooting near Grand Avenue and Center Street in Wittmann, MCSO said. 

MCSO negotiated with a man inside the house to step out of the house, and the man was taken into custody.

A woman was found with a gunshot wound inside the house, and the woman later died. 

There’s an ongoing investigation into the incident. MCSO said detectives are investigating the “shooting as suspicious”.
