Valley events for a fun-filled weekend ahead | Things to Do

Whether you’re chasing laughter, sweet corn, or classic cars, the Valley is brimming with ways to soak up the fun. From theater classics and musical fairytales to free family festivals, sizzling shopping center events, and even a wellness “summer camp” for adults, there’s something happening in just about every corner of town this weekend and beyond. 

The Sunshine Boys. Fountain Hills Theater will bring Neil Simon’s classic comedy “The Sunshine Boys” to the stage this month, with performances running June 13–29. Get all the details here.

Sweet Corn Market. A summer tradition is back as the 12th Annual Sweet Corn Market kicks off at the Fountain Hills Tractor Supply Co. on Shea Boulevard. The market will run every Saturday through June 28 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Find out more here.

Vroom, vroom. A longtime Valley tradition has found a new summer home. The iconic Rock ‘n Roll Car Show, formerly held at The Pavilions at Talking Stick, has cruised four miles north to Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers at Pima Crossing in Scottsdale, where it’s now revving up every Saturday evening through Sept. 27. Things heat up at Desert Ridge. Summer is sizzling at Desert Ridge Marketplace with a fresh lineup of events designed to entertain guests of all ages while helping them beat the heat. Beat the heat. The Holland Center is inviting the public to cool off and learn something new this summer with its free “Beat the Heat” adult enrichment series, held weekday mornings at 10:30 a.m. throughout June. Get all the details here.

June Days in Scottsdale. Organized by the city of Scottsdale, June Days runs through the end of the month and features a wide range of events designed to showcase the charm of Old Town Scottsdale while supporting local businesses. Into the Woods. A mix of magic, music and moral lessons takes center stage as The Phoenix Theatre Company brings Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony Award-winning musical “Into the Woods” to life. The production runs through July 13. Learn more here.
