With November and its perfect weather now here, there is so much to do close to home or just a short drive away. 

Weekend activities and events 

If you’re still looking for spooky vibes, the city of Scottsdale presents the 8th Annual Scottsdale Día de los Muertos Fiestas. This event features traditional experiences and authentic art installations throughout Old Town Scottsdale through Saturday, Nov. 2, the Day of the Dead. Check it out here.

In celebration of one of the desert’s most diverse fruits, the Prickly Pear Fest is being presented by the Desert Awareness Committee on Sat., Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m at the Holland Community Center, located at 34250 N. 60th Street in Scottsdale. Read more about it here

For local families, Shape Up Us has partnered with Munchkin Programs, USA Pickleball, The McDowell Mountain Ranch Community Association, and members of the McDowell Mountain Ranch Pickleball Club to bring a new event to life on Nov. 2. The family fun community event will feature the world’s largest pickleball lesson and Ninja Warrior full course. See more details here.

If you love live shows, TheaterWorks invites locals to see their rendition of “Beauty and The Beast,” which is showing until Sunday, Nov. 3. See the story here

Perfect for classical music lovers, Desert Hills Presbyterian Church will welcome violinist Asi Matathias and pianist Matthew Graybil to the stage for a concert on Sun. Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. See more information here

And, join in for a little “horsin’ around” for a great cause. The focus of this year’s Boots, Bourbon & BBQ fundraiser on Sat., Nov. 2 from 3-7 p.m. is to raise money for the new Unbridled Pathways’ program, Unbridled Confidence. Check it out here.
