Mother’s Day Tea at Cave Creek Museum

On Sunday, May 5 from 2-4 p.m., Cave Creek Museum and Kiwanis Family Fun Days present “Mother’s Day Tea.”

“This family event is to honor our mothers and grandmothers,” said Evelyn Johnson, executive director for the museum. “Please bring your children and join us for an old-fashioned English Tea at the museum in honor of Mother’s Day. We will be serving tea and lemonade and each child also will have an opportunity to design a small terracotta pot and choose a succulent plant to pot as a take home gift for mom.”

Mother’s Day Chocolate Centerpieces at Valley of the Sun J

What better way to spoil your mom than with some chocolate? From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on May 7 the Valley of the Sun J will be hosting a chocolate tempering and molding class. Participants will get to take their beautiful and delicious creation home after the class!

Moms will get their own new purse filled with goodies to open. From 9 to 11 a.m. on May 9 they will also be hosting a spa day offering free haircuts, styling and cosmetic services.

Musical Instrument Museum

In honor of Mother’s Day the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) is offering a specialty brunch at Cafe Allegro, live performances and activities in celebration of Alice Cooper’s musical career and two shows at the MIM Music Theater. At 7:30 p.m. on May 11 Gypsy Soul will take the stage. C.J. Cheiner and the Red Hot Louisiana Band will perform on Mother’s Day at 7 p.m. 

The Mother’s Day Brunch features a three-course meal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $48 a person.
