18th Annual Paul’s Car Wash fundraiser returns Oct 23-24 | Community

A Valley tradition that combines community spirit with a good cause will return Oct. 23-24 when Paul’s Car Wash celebrates its 18th year at Desert Ridge Marketplace.

The annual fundraiser, hosted by Arizona’s Family meteorologist and community ambassador Paul Horton, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, which serves more than 1,500 children each year through one-to-one mentoring programs.

Since its launch, Paul’s Car Wash has grown into a large-scale event featuring corporate teams, volunteers and local celebrities who roll up their sleeves to help wash cars. Attendees can also expect live entertainment and guest appearances throughout the two-day fundraiser.

Organizers said the event does more than raise money.

“Paul’s Car Wash is more than just a fundraiser — it’s a celebration of mentorship and the power of community,” said Steve Conrad, vice president of development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. “The support of Paul Horton, Arizona’s Family and our incredible sponsors ensures that more children across Arizona have access to a positive role model in their lives.”

This year’s sponsors include Cox, ATL Wings, Techbros, Charles Schwab, Republic Services, Fry’s, Renewal By Andersen and UMB Bank. Arizona’s Family sponsors Chas Roberts, Lerner and Rowe, Princess Resort, Albertsons and Safeway are also supporting the event.

Horton, who helped launch the car wash in 2007, has called the fundraiser one of his favorite traditions of the year, noting that it continues to grow in both size and impact.
