West Seattle cafe hit by egg thieves

SEATTLE – Hundreds of eggs are missing from a West Seattle restaurant in what police are calling a “breakfast heist.”

The theft was reported during the early morning hours of Feb. 5 in the area of SW Manning Street and SW Avalon Way.

Timeline:

Officers say they responded to the Luna Park Cafe at about 4:42 a.m. after someone at the business reported the “rotten activity seen live on security cameras.” 

Next, two men went in the restaurant’s refrigerated shed and took boxes with about 540 eggs inside, reportedly worth around $387, according to SPD.

In addition to eggs, the establishment reports bacon, ground beef, blueberries and other egg products were taken–totaling $780, all seen on video being loaded into the van. 

What they’re saying:

“An employee of the cafe arrived to the business to see the van had returned to the property with one of the suspects near the shed yet again. The man got back into the van and the suspects, like eggs, ran from the scene, likely, afraid of being scrambled,” said SPD.
