Suspect dead after officer-involved shooting in north Phoenix

PHOENIX – A suspect is dead following an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday in north Phoenix.

Phoenix Police say the shooting happened near 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

“This critical incident is being investigated as an Officer Involved Shooting with the suspect being pronounced deceased on scene and no injuries to involved officers,” Phoenix Police wrote on X.

The suspect was not identified.

Thunderbird is shut down from 31st Avenue to Interstate 17 due to the investigation.

An officer-involved shooting on Dec. 18 near I-17 and Thunderbird road left a suspect dead, Phoenix Police said.
