Police shooting in Laveen prompts road closure

Phoenix Police are at the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the Laveen area of south Phoenix. FOX 10 Photojournalist Rick Davis has more from the scene.

PHOENIX – An investigation is underway after a shooting involving a police officer in South Phoenix.

Per a post made on X (formerly Twitter), the situation is unfolding in the area of 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.

“The suspect has been transported to a nearby hospital. There are no injuries to officers,” read a portion of the post.

Per Phoenix Police Sergeant Robert Scherer, there are road closures in the area, and that includes a closure of 35th Avenue, in both directions, near the scene.
