LOS ANGELES – Dozens of people were injured early Saturday morning when a car plowed into a crowd in East Hollywood.

What we know:
Around 2 a.m. on Saturday, a person, later identified as 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez, drove a Nissan Versa into a crowd of people that were waiting to enter the Vermont Hollywood Nightclub, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers said that Ramirez drove into the crowd intentionally.
More than 30 people were hurt, authorities said, with their injuries ranging from minor pain to serious fractures.
The majority of people waiting in line were women, and the driver also hit a taco truck and valet stand.

After the crash, police said bystanders pulled Ramirez from the car and attacked him. While that was happening, police said, another man walked over and shot Ramirez in the lower back, then ran off.
When officers got to the scene they arrested Ramirez.
On Sunday, the LAPD released a picture of the suspected shooter. Officers described him as being between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue Dodgers jacket, a light blue jersey with the number 5 on it, and jeans.

The club, Vermont Hollywood, was hosting a reggae/hip-hop event from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., according to its online calendar.
