Wrong-way crash shuts down Red Mountain Loop 202 lanes Saturday morning

MESA, AZ — Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a wrong-way crash that shut down part of Loop 202 early Saturday morning.

DPS says the two-vehicle crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of State Route 202 near milepost 17.

Eastbound traffic is closed at Gilbert Road while crews work the scene.

DPS has not released information on injuries or what led up to the crash. Officials say it is an active investigation.
