Arizona driver gives ‘bad excuse’ before arrested for speeding

The driver had a revoked license and a warrant and said he was going over 100 mph because he needed to get to a bathroom.

PHOENIX — An Arizona man was arrested after he was caught driving over 100 mph with a revoked license, the reason he gave the trooper for speeding was considered unacceptable to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

A trooper was driving on SR-95 in the Lake Havasu City area when he noticed a white Chevrolet Silverado speeding. The radar registered 110 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to DPS.

When the trooper stopped the vehicle, the driver was asked why he was going that fast. The driver allegedly said, “I have to poop”, according to DPS.

The diver provided the trooper with an Arizona ID card, and the trooper asked him if he had a license, but the man said it was suspended for a DUI.

The man “had a warrant, expired vehicle registration, and several suspension/revocations for DUIs and failure to pay for criminal offenses,” according to DPS.

The man was arrested for criminal speeding, driving under a revoked license and for having an outstanding warrant.

The vehicle was impounded for 20 days.
