SUNSITES, Ariz. (KVOA) – Amid the intense heat, residents in Sunsites, a community in Cochise County, faced a water shortage for several hours.
Customers of Hope Water Company experienced an outage that began last night and continued into Friday.
Sulphur Springs Electric Cooperative stepped in to assist by delivering cases of water to the Sunsites Community Center.
The community center, located at 1216 Treasure Road in Pearce, is currently serving as a cooling center and a place where residents can pick up bottled water.
Efforts are underway by the water company to restore basic water service by getting backfill water up and running.
