Around 9:30 a.m., PCSD investigators used a large pole to inspect a manhole or septic tank in Guthrie’s backyard. Those investigators left the scene about two hours later. Currently, there are no suspects nor persons of interest in the case.
Tucson, Ariz. – (KVOA) Sunday marked Day 8 in the urgent search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie and longtime Tucson resident.
Early Sunday, Pima County Sheriff’s investigators were back at Nancy Guthrie’s house near Campbell Ave. and Skyline Dr. to look for more clues in her disappearance. Around 9:30 a.m., PCSD investigators used a large pole to inspect a manhole or septic tank in Guthrie’s backyard. Those investigators left the scene about two hours later. Currently, there are no suspects nor persons of interest in the case.
Investigators also spent time looking through the brush in the backyard of the home. For much of Sunday afternoon into the evening, Guthrie’s home was. quiet with little law enforcement activity.
The 84-year-old Guthrie was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills on January 31st shortly before 10 p.m. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos and the FBI have not held a news conference since Thursday.
On Saturday night, Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings sent their latest message over social to their mother’s potential abductor, pleading for her release.
According to the FBI, the second deadline in the reported ransom note is Monday at 2 p.m.
