TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Arizona Wildcats are on the cusp of making history as they prepare to face Arizona State University (ASU) later today at the Dessert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona. 

A win would not only set a new program record for the start to a season but also tie the program’s longest winning streak, a record that dates back to the 1914-17 seasons. It would also tie the Big 12 record for the best start to a season, a mark set by Kansas in 1996-97.

Under head coach Tommy Lloyd, Arizona has excelled, boasting a 27-13 record against Top 25 opponents, leading the country with a .675 winning percentage since the 2021-22 season.

Fans can expect standout performances from key players. Jaden Bradley, recently named to the 2026 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List, ranks third in the Big 12 with 39 steals.

Brayden Burries, leads the team with seven 20-point games, including a 29-point performance at BYU. He is among four freshmen nationally averaging 15.0 points while shooting 50% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc.

Koa Peat has achieved four double-doubles this season, averaging 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 64% over the last three games. Tobe Awaka leads the nation in offensive rebounds per 40 minutes and scored a career-high 25 points against Arizona State on January 14.

Jaden Bradley’s clutch performance includes shooting 69% from the floor in critical moments. He recorded 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting in the win at BYU.
