Arizona Balloon Classic is back for its 15th year

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A colorful tradition is back at the place where it all began.

Starting on Friday, you can check out the 15th annual Arizona Balloon Classic happening at the Wild Horse Pass Festival Grounds.

The three-day event in the Gila River Indian Community offers competitive hot air balloon racing, family entertainment, food, music and evening balloon glow photo ops. 

Twenty hot air balloons are registered for competition. Each morning, people who buy tickets can step onto the field to watch balloon inflations and liftoffs. At night, visitors can enjoy the Desert Glows.

People who buy tickets can also enjoy hot air balloon rides and tethered experiences. There will also be BMX stunt shows, live music, retail vendors and the 9th Annual Street FoodFest.

The event runs on Friday, from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, it’s open from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

• Online tickets: $18
• At the gate: $20
• Seniors 55 years+: $15
• Group Rate (10+ people): $12 per person
• Parking: $10
• Free Admission for Kids 12 and under, and Active Military/Veterans with a Military ID

According to abcfest.com, tickets are required per balloon session. Morning launches and evening glows require separate tickets unless you buy a Classic Pass, which allows full-weekend access.
