TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Old Pueblo? We’ve got you covered with some exciting events happening around town.

Casino Del Sol is hosting the 20th Tucson Tamal and Heritage Festival on Saturday. The event will be held at the AVA Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s free and open to the public, celebrating the history of tamales in the Southwest and Mexico. Attendees can enjoy a tamale contest, numerous food vendors and trucks, and a farmers market. You can find more information here: 20th Tamal Festival | Casino Del Sol   

ZooLights Holiday Magic kicked off this week and will continue for a whole month. Presented by Tucson Electric Power, Reid Park Zoo is illuminated with Christmas colors to celebrate the holidays. New this year is a 33-foot showcase tree that changes colors to music. You can purchase tickets and look at the full schedule here: ZooLights 2025 – Reid Park Zoo   

The Tucson Botanical Gardens is hosting the Lights Up Festival of Illumination, which is already underway and will run until mid-January. The garden is lit up with Christmas colors, featuring a light tunnel, dancing cypress tree, and crescent moon. The festival is open from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every night.
