The Arizona Builders Alliance, an association for contractors in Arizona, is calling on community members to help make a difference in the lives of children in need this holiday season.
Building on the success of last year’s effort, which raised more than $40,000 and provided toys for more than 3,000 children, the alliance’s annual toy drive has begun collecting toys and monetary donations for nonprofit organizations serving children across the state.
The alliance will provide gifts for children at Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, Arizona Sunshine Angels, Santo Niño Catholic Community, Sequoia Charter School, Agape Adoption Agency of Arizona, The Foster Alliance, and Tucson-based Arizona Baptist Children’s Services. These organizations provide basic needs assistance, recreational opportunities, permanency support, advocacy efforts and legal representation for children who have experienced family separation or abuse and neglect.
“Our construction community proves year after year that we build more than projects. We build pathways to hope,” said Kim Davids, president of the Arizona Builders Alliance. “Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, volunteers and members, we’re able to ensure the children experience the magic of the holiday season. We encourage everyone to participate and help expand our impact this year.”
More than 100 Valley construction companies will team up with the alliance to make the long-running toy drive a success by encouraging employees to donate toys or make monetary contributions by Dec. 8. Alliance members McCarthy, Big-D, Kitchell, Rosendin, DP Electric, IMCOR, Sundt, Kortman Inc. and Rural Electric also will sponsor holiday gifts for children from Sequoia Charter School and Sunshine Acres Children’s Home.
In addition, volunteers will gather Dec. 12-17 to wrap and deliver thousands of toys and participate in activities to support the effort. The events will include inviting foster families to select gifts, organizing toy drop-offs and hosting a festive party with games, holiday music, treats and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“When kids open these gifts, they’re not just getting toys — they’re feeling the love of a community behind them,” said Veronica Davis of GCON and chair of the alliance’s Community Service Committee. “Through this toy drive, our community unites to build a brighter future, demonstrating that together, we can create hope, one gift at a time.”
Donation drop sites are located throughout the Valley and in Tucson. All contributions are tax-deductible, and the public can make monetary donations through the alliance’s toy drive website at azbuilders.org/events/2025-toy-drive or by calling 602-274-8222.
