Tucson-born veteran gifted with a big surprise | Good News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A Tucson-born former U.S. Army sergeant, Jose Valdenegro, received a new car, payment-free, from the Military Warriors Support Foundation.

Valdenegro joined the U.S. Army in 2006 and served as a fire support specialist. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was injured in combat.

Throughout his military career, he earned numerous awards and honors before medically retiring in 2016.

“It means a lot. It’s pretty handy, my family has gotten older, their getting bigger,” Valdenegro said. “It’s a good way to travel around more and everything and have the space and comfortability with them in the vehicle to go where we need to go.”
