Large police presence in west Phoenix neighborhood, man found with gunshot wound

PHOENIX — A man was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries” after being found with at least one gunshot wound in west Phoenix, the city’s police department said.

There is a large police presence in the area of 85th Avenue and Indian School Road. Sky12 footage shows several officers in the area as well.

Phoenix police responded to the area regarding a shooting at around 8:20 p.m. When officers got there, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police did not release any further information regarding the man’s condition or his identity.

Police are in the area trying to “gather intelligence” on the suspect and investigate the scene, police said.

The area will be shut down, police said, while the investigation is being conducted.

Police did not release any information regarding what led up to the man being shot.
