Esperanza Veteran Housing Program’s resource and job fair is being held in Tucson for a second consecutive year on Nov. 4.
The event aims to connect veterans with “employment opportunities, essential services, and community resources all under one roof.” Local employers will be seeking to hire, offering on-site interviews and application processes, organizers said.
The fair “represents our ongoing commitment to supporting the brave men and women who have served our country,” said Suzanne Bond, Esperanza’s CEO. “By bringing together employers, service providers, and our veteran community, we’re creating meaningful connections that can transform lives and strengthen our entire community.”
Employers from Walmart, Goodwill, Community Food Bank, Kino Veterans WorkForce Center, Sevita/Mentor, Long Realty, Revolution Mortgage, and VoteRiders have committed to being part of the event, Esperanza representatives said.
The veteran-focused nonprofit organization has been in operation for more than three decades, with a mission of providing “transitional and permanent supportive housing for unhoused veterans and veterans’ families.” Esperanza also offers “social rehabilitation in order to nurture and support the transition from being unhoused to self-sufficiency.”
The job fair will take place Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3700 S. Calle Polar, Tucson. While the event is geared toward veterans, it is also open to the public. The event is free and requires no registration; attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes and to dress professionally for in-person interviews.
