Gunfire exchange in Tucson as police catch robbery suspect | Crime

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – An officer-involved shooting unfolded on Saturday, October 25, 2025, following a series of events beginning at an apartment complex on East Old Spanish Trail.

Patrol officers from Operations Division East responded to a reported shooting at approximately 9:40 a.m. The suspect had fired shots at an occupied apartment, but thankfully, no one was hit. As officers rushed to the scene, a description of the suspect was broadcast.

Shortly afterward, a 911 call reported an armed robbery at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on East Broadway Boulevard. Notably, the suspect’s description matched that of the shooter from the apartment complex.

Around 9:45 a.m., two Tucson Police Officers arrived at the Walmart. The officers located the suspect and pursued him on foot. Despite verbal commands to drop his weapon, an exchange of gunfire occurred. The officers managed to take the suspect into custody and provided immediate aid.

The Tucson Fire Department responded quickly, transporting the suspect to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, no officers or bystanders were harmed during the incident.

The Pima Regional Critical Incident Team has been activated to oversee the criminal investigation. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. Meanwhile, the Tucson Police Department will conduct its own investigation to check for any policy violations.

All findings will be submitted to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review once the investigation concludes.
