The Avondale Police Department said the shooting happened just before 1:40 a.m. Saturday near Dysart and Thomas roads.

AVONDALE, Ariz. — One person has been injured in Avondale in what police described as a road rage shooting incident.

The Avondale Police Department said the incident happened just before 1:40 a.m. Saturday near Dysart and Thomas roads.

Officers were called out to the area for a welfare check.

Police said one person is in custody following the incident.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
