Skydive Arizona to host national championships this month

“The national championship is where the best of the best come together to test their skills, set records and advance in the sport,” the USPA Executive Director says.

ELOY, Ariz. — Some of the best skydivers in the country will be freefalling over the Arizona desert this month for the 2025 United States Parachute Association National Championships.

The competition—considered the premier event for American skydivers—began Oct. 7 at Skydive Elsinore, in Lake Elsinore, California, and continues Wednesday at Skydive Arizona in Eloy, where athletes will compete through Nov. 1.

Elite skydivers from across the U.S. will take part in a range of events, from high-speed canopy piloting to wingsuit flying, formation skydiving, and freefall artistry. Each discipline tests precision, athleticism and creativity thousands of feet above the ground.

“Nationals is where the best of the best come together to test their skills, set records and advance the sport,” said USPA Executive Director Albert Berchtold. “We’re excited to showcase the incredible talent and passion of U.S. skydivers at two world-class drop zones.”

Skydive Arizona, located between Phoenix and Tucson, is one of the largest and most well-known drop zones in the world. Its fleet of aircraft, including five Super Otters and seven Skyvans, can lift more than 240 skydivers into the air at once.

Spectators are welcome to watch the competition from the ground at Skydive Arizona, located at 4900 N Taylor St, Eloy, AZ.

A full schedule of events can be found here.

Top performers in Eloy and Lake Elsinore will have the chance to represent the United States at international contests, including the 2026 Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (World Air Sports Federation) World Championships, which are set to take place in Arizona, California and Slovakia.

USPA oversees safety standards and training for more than 200 affiliated skydiving centers nationwide. Founded in 1946, the organization’s 41,000 members make an estimated 3.65 million jumps each year across the country.
