How to see the Mercury in the WNBA Finals

The Phoenix Mercury cemented their first trip to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2021. Here’s how you can see them in person.

PHOENIX — The odds were stacked against the Phoenix Mercury this season: a rebuilt roster, a fairly new coach and ownership, and no appearances from longtime stars Diana Taurasi or Brittney Griner. And yet, the Mercury have risen, defying expectations and punching their ticket to the WNBA Finals.

Phoenix will now face the Las Vegas Aces for a shot at the title. This marks the Mercury’s first WNBA Finals appearance since 2021. They’ll be aiming to capture their first championship title since 2014.

What to expect for the WNBA Finals

Get ready for a West Coast showdown.

The Las Vegas Aces bring experience, star power, and a championship pedigree. Led by league MVP A’ja Wilson, the team also features elite talent in Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray, both proven winners with Finals experience. Las Vegas closed out the regular season on a blistering 16-game win streak and hasn’t looked back since.

Phoenix may be the less battle-tested of the two squads, but what they lack in recent history, they make up for in hunger. This would be the Mercury’s biggest test yet.

How the Mercury got here

Phoenix earned their Finals spot after a thrilling (and at times chaotic) semifinals battle against the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx. The Mercury emerged victorious in a tough series that ended with an injury to MVP finalist Napheesa Collier and the suspension of Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve. Collier and Reeve has since voiced public criticism of the league’s leadership.

While controversy clouded the Lynx’s exit, it was the Mercury’s persistence that carried them through.

Now, Phoenix stands just three wins away from a championship that plenty were doubtful of.

It’s not just game tickets, though. Fans can also swing by the team shop at PHX Arena to pick up new playoffs and Finals gear ahead of the big game. Many of their regular season merch items are also on sale!

For those doubting the Phoenix Mercury’s place in the Finals to begin with, just take Kahleah Copper’s word for it: “DON’T PICK US.” Then maybe, just maybe, they’ll win it all.
