TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Former Wildcat Jayden de Laura and the Vegas Knight Hawks are IFL National Champions.
The Quarterback led Vegas to its first title in franchise history with a 64-61 win over the Green Bay Blizzard in Tucson Saturday.
This game was all about offense until the final play. Green Bay had a chance to score a game-winning touchdown with five seconds to play. The Blizzard ran a ‘tush push’ play two inches from the goal line, but the Knight Hawks’ defense kept league MVP Max Meylor out of the end zone.
De Laura was named IFL Championship Game MVP after throwing for a touchdown and rushing for two more. He had more than 30 family members and friends in the stands at Tucson Arena. That includes former U of A Head Football Coach Jedd Fisch and his family.

De Laura played for Fisch at Arizona for two seasons. He started every game in 2022 and the first four games of 2023. After suffering an injury, De Laura was replaced by current starter Noah Fifita.
