Thursday Aug. 21: Tucson City Councilman Paul Cunningham, Pima County Attorney Laura Conover and Tucson Police Captain Matthew Brady, who heads up TPD’s Operations Divsion West, will hold a town hall on the topic of crime and public safety. “We’ve heard a lot of different discussions about some of the concerns with community safety,” Cunningham told the Sentinel. 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the city of Tucson Ward 2 Office, 7820 E. Friday, Aug. 22: Tucson Sentinel reporter Paul Ingram guest hosts the Buckmaster show. He’ll be joined by Sentinel reporter Jim
Nintzel to interview Pima County Supervisor Matt Heinz. Noon on KVOI, 1030 AM. Episodes stream at buckmastershow.com.

Also on Friday, Nintzel joins a panel of journalists on AZPM’s Press Room to discuss the
major news stories of the week. Steve Goldstein moderates. Program airs

Monday, Aug. 25: Last day to register to vote in the Congressional District 7 special election.

Tuesday, Aug. 26: The Arizona Media Association and Clean
Elections presents a televised debate in the special Congressional
District 7 special congressional congressional election between Democrat
Adelita Grijalva and Republican Daniel Butierez. The election was made
necessary by the death of Grijalva’ father, longtime U.S. Rep. Raúl
Grijalva. The debate will air on Arizona Public Media’s PBS 6 and NPR
affiliate KUAZ, 89.1 FM and will stream on various news websites,
including TucsonSentinel.com.

Wednesday, Aug. 27: Early voting begins for CD7 special general election.

Wednesday, Aug. 27: Tucson Sentinel reporter Jim Nintzel guest hosts the Buckmaster show. Noon on KVOI, 1030 AM. Episodes stream at buckmastershow.com.
