Man critically injured in Phoenix Fry’s parking lot shooting

PHOENIX — A man is in the hospital after being shot during a fight in a Phoenix Fry’s parking lot, according to officials with the city’s police department. 

Officers responded to the store near Baseline Road and 51st Avenue around 8 p.m. for reports of the fight. When officers were on their way to the scene, they learned someone had been shot.

Officials found a man with a gunshot wound on scene and took him to a nearby hospital in critical condition, officials said. A man was detained at the scene, police said. 

The area around the shooting is expected to be closed for an extended period of time while detectives investigate.
