PHOENIX — An area of low pressure moving up from Baja is pushing drier air in; however, there is still some moisture and instability to kick off a few monsoon storms.
We expect the storm chance to be very limited this evening for the Valley.
The best storm chances for the evening will remain in Northwest Arizona and the White Mountains.
As the low moves in further, more dry air will filter in, continuing to lower rain chances for the end of the week and the weekend.
A few isolated thunderstorms are still possible Friday, the most likely areas will be in Southeastern Arizona. We will monitor for progression northward. However, with drier air in place, this will likely weaken anything that pushed towards the Valley.
Temperatures for Friday will begin to rise. Temperatures across the Valley in the morning will be in the mid to low 80s and warm up to 107 by the afternoon, which is right on par for where we should be this time of year.
We’ll still hang on to slight monsoon storm chances in the mountains through the weekend, but the Valley looks dry, with near-normal highs and lots of sunshine.
