Wednesday is the suggested deadline for Arizona voters to return ballots by mail in the Congressional District 7 special primary election.
If you don’t send back your ballot in the mail by Wednesday July 8, there are still a few places where voters can drop off their ballots before Election Day on July 15.
The following sites are open for early voting, which ends on July 11. All sites will be open until 7 p.m. that day.

- Palo Verde High School – ATC Room – 1302 S. Avenida Vega / Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed Election Day)
- Sahuarita High School – ACE Room – 350 W. Sahuarita Rd. / Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed Election Day)
- Ajo Early Voting Site – 120 W. Estrella Ave. / Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. (closed Election Day)
- TOKA Community Building – 51 Baboquivari Dr. / Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. (closed Election Day)
- Pima County Recorder’s East Side Office – 6920 E. Broadway / (drop-off only, open 24 hours)
Early ballots can also be dropped off in person at voting locations on Election Day, July 15.
Five Democrats are competing in the primary election to fill the seat of longtime Southern Arizona U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva, who died on March 13 at the age of 77 after a battle with lung cancer. He had represented Southern Arizona since he was first elected to Congress in 2002.
CD 7 Dem candidates

- Jorge Rivas, who owns a Mexican restaurant in Catalina.
- Jimmy Rodriguez, who builds off-road vehicles and has been involved in the racing circuit.

The primary winners will advance to a Sept. 23 special general election to fill the seat until after the November 2026 election.
