STORMTRACKER 4 Alert- We are kicking off the work week with rising temperatures. Extreme and dangerous heat is set to impact by midweek.
An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Pima, Graham, Greenlee and Pinal counties on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Temperatures will be between 108 and 111 degrees. Have a heat plan, do not hike! Avoid outside activities during the hottest time of the day.
Monday, temperatures will hit 106, this is still dangerous heat. Overnight lows will be in the 80s. Storms are possible Monday south and east of Tucson. Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties have potential for additional rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail.
Do not enter closed roadways or roads covered in water. Turn around, don’t drown. According to reports from the National Weather Service cars have had to turn around due to flooded roadways while others had to pull over due to heavy rain because of the storms the past few days. Super saturated soil increases chances for flooding in these areas. Stay weather aware. A stray shower or two can not be ruled out for Tucson.
Stay cool out there!
