Deadly shooting in Phoenix under investigation

PHOENIX — One man is dead after a shooting in south Phoenix Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. near Central Avenue and Broadway Road.

Police identified the man who was shot as 29-year-old Alan Fernando Flores.

First responders arrived and found the victim, who had been shot. Fire crews rushed him to the hospital where he later died. 

Police said 26-year-old Cristian Leonel Valdez Serna was arrested in connection with the shooting.
