Sahuarita residents warned after third explosive device discovery | News

SAHUARITA, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) was called by the Sahuarita Police Department (SPD) to assist with a third improvised explosive device found in the same vicinity as previous incidents.

The Pima Regional Bomb Squad was on Camino Larga Vista near Mountain Alder Street Friday evening investigating the device. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious items or activities to local law enforcement. “Do not touch or approach any suspicious devices. If you see something, say something,” the press release advised.

The second suspicious device was discovered at around 5:30 a.m. on June 20, 2025, at Parque Del Sol Park, near South Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard and East Camino Rancho Tierra. It measured about four to six inches in length and two inches in width. 

The first device was found last week on June 13, near Parque Del Sol. The Regional Bomb Squad safely removed both previous devices.
