Celebrate Jazz at the Musical Instrument Museum | Things to Do



From jazzy tunes and Broadway hits to Western thrills and wellness escapes, the Valley is buzzing with events that celebrate art, culture, and community. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a date night, or just looking for something new to explore, there’s something for everyone happening this weekend and beyond. 

Celebrate Jazz. The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) invites Valley residents to kick off summer with three days of music, movement, and creativity during its annual “Celebrate Jazz” event, happening June 6–8. Read all about it here.

Western fun. The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) brings its Kimes Ranch Derby back to WestWorld for the fifth consecutive year, offering Western sport, artistry and family-friendly fun. Scheduled through June 7, the event is free and open to the public. Get the details here.

How colorful. Phoenix Art Museum will commemorate Juneteenth and Pride Month with a variety of events and exhibitions, including a Pride Night celebration on First Friday and a closing date for the photography exhibition Widening the Lens. Learn more here.

June Days in Scottsdale. Organized by the city of Scottsdale, June Days runs through the end of the month and features a wide range of events designed to showcase the charm of Old Town Scottsdale while supporting local businesses. Into the Woods. A mix of magic, music and moral lessons takes center stage as The Phoenix Theatre Company brings Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony Award-winning musical “Into the Woods” to life. The production runs through July 13. Learn more here.

Adults looking to energize their summer and prioritize wellness are invited to take part in the 2025 Mind, Body & Community Wellness Series, a “summer camp for adults” running Mondays and Wednesdays through August at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree.
