Watch: Wild turkey causes chaos Indiana supermarket

An Indiana police officer is now “certified in poultry negotiations” after saving a grocery store from a wild turkey that was chasing customers and wreaking havoc inside.

According to the St. Joseph County Police Department, someone from Martin’s supermarket called 911 to report a “really big” turkey chasing customers and knocking items off the shelves inside.

When officers arrived, one said they should try to “herd” the turkey outside, but another said, “Let’s just grab him.”

As one officer bravely took on the turkey, you could hear another officer warning him to “watch for those top talons.”

When he grabbed the turkey, it went wild and started trying to escape, but the officer was able to keep hold of it. The turkey was then “peacefully escorted” off the premises, the sheriff’s office said.

“The good news, no harm, no fowl. The turkey was peacefully escorted off the premises and released completely unharmed,” the police department said on Facebook.
