Triple digit temps expected for Phoenix

You can expect triple digits in the forecast for the Valley this week.

PHOENIX — The Valley is looking at record temperatures this week. Phoenix hit 100 degrees at 2:28 p.m. on Thursday for the first triple-digit day of the year.

But it will get even warmer on Friday, with a predicted temperature of 102. Saturday’s prediction is one degree lower at 101.

These triple-digit temperatures for Phoenix are a few weeks ahead of schedule. Phoenix generally doesn’t see 100-degree temperatures until May, according to the NWS.

In 2024, Phoenix saw more than 100 consecutive days that were 100 degrees or higher.

Last summer was the hottest on record for Phoenix, according to NWS.

Officials are encouraging everyone to stay safe and hydrated during the hotter temperatures.

In 2024, health officials in Maricopa County confirmed 602 heat-related deaths.
