When officers got to the scene of the crash, they found a woman, identified as 55-year-old Stephanie Fisher, who had been riding a bike and was lying injured in the road.

Firefighters treated Fisher, but she died at the scene of the crash.

Officers learned that Fisher had been hit by a car, which drove away from the crash. Officers later took a woman believed to be the driver into custody, saying she showed signs of impairment. Police obtained a search warrant for a blood sample and released the woman, “pending the outcome of the investigation.”

Officers later learned that a second vehicle was involved in the crash that killed Fisher. That car also drove away from the crash and has yet to be found.

Detectives are now working to find out who was driving the second car and where they may be.

The Phoenix Police Department asks anyone with information on this crash to call the department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377). Para denunciar un delito en español, llame al 480-TESTIGO (837-8446).
