Woman, 89, dies in crash south of Tucson

Investigators are trying to determine if a medical issue led to a crash Tuesday morning in Sahuarita in which an 89-year-old woman died.

About 9:20 a.m., Marcia Jones was driving south on South Nogales Highway just south of East Sahuarita Road when she left the road and struck a tree, Sahuarita police said in a news release.

Jones, the sole occupant, died at the crash scene. She was wearing a seatbelt and initial indications are that a medical issue might have caused the crash, the release said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 520-351-4900 or 520-344-7000 during regular weekday business hours.
