Man found dead inside Phoenix home after shooting

PHOENIX — A man was found dead inside a home in Phoenix after a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital, according to the Phoenix Police Department. 

Phoenix police said officers were called to a home near 7100 N 17th Drive due to a shooting on Saturday afternoon. That area is just northeast of the intersection of 19th and Glendale avenues.

Officers got to the scene of the shooting at about 3:20 p.m. and found a woman who had been shot. That woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but Phoenix police said her injuries are not considered life-threatening. 

Officers then used drones to search the home for any possible suspects inside and say that they found a man dead inside with “a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” 

No one involved in the shooting has been identified.
