1 killed in RV fire on Tucson’s southwest side


One person was killed in an RV fire Wednesday night southwest of Tucson, authorities say.

The fire started just after 9:30 p.m. on a vacant lot near West Irvington Place and South Mission Road. The unidentified person who was killed had mobility issues and appears to have been trapped in the rear of the burning recreational vehicle, Drexel Heights Fire said in a news release.

Authorities said it appeared the person was living in the vehicle.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
