Woman found dead at Ahwatukee baseball fields; murder investigation underway

AHWATUKEE, Ariz. – A woman’s death is now being investigated as a murder, the Phoenix Police Department said.

Margaret Williams, 21, was found dead on Dec. 7 near 40th Street and Ray Road. 

The backstory:

During their initial investigation, police say no obvious signs of trama were found on Williams.

What they’re saying:

The medical examiner took custody of Williams’ body following the initial death investigation.

“Findings were later released from the Medical Examiner’s Office ruling the death to be a homicide,” Sgt. Brian Bower said.
